MISSIONING
Date Posted: June 17, 2023The Lord of the Harvest
The harvest is plenty but the workers are few, ask the Lord of the harvest to send more workers Mtt 9:35. Our Three Sisters were sent on mission to different communities after successfully completing their initial formation. In the Spirit of St. Vincent De Paul and St. Louise De Marillac we pray that they will be open to the spirit of God and follow Christ's injunction to serve him corporally and spiritually in the most abandoned.
Missions are those “particular undertakings by which the heralds of the Gospel, sent out by the Church and going forth into the whole world, carry out the task of preaching the Gospel and planting the Church among peoples or groups who do not yet believe in Christ. . . . The proper purpose of this missionary activity is evangelization” (Ad Gentes, no. 6). Congratulations dear Sisters as you boldly Go towards to encounter Christ in the poorest of the poor, to heal the sick, bring relief to captives, hope to the despairing and enlightenment to the confused. The Church can never “withdraw from her permanent mission of bringing the Gospel to the multitudes—the millions and millions of men and women—who as yet do not know Christ the Redeemer of humanity” (Redemptoris Missio no. 31)
Congratulations to the Daughters of Charity, Province of Nigeria
